Rey Connor Claims VPW Global Championship as Feel the Heat Delivers Betrayals and Title Changes
By Victory Pro Crew ·
Victory Pro Wrestling’s Feel the Heat delivered a memorable afternoon of action at Baggeridge Social Club, with new champions crowned, bitter rivalries intensified and Rey Connor emerging as the first VPW Global Champion.
The show opened with Mickey Rowley successfully defending the TTW Title against Joshua Vance. Alex Connors then captured the DCW Worcestershire Title in a highly competitive three-way match, defeating reigning champion Myle Young and Nathan Fisher.
Blake Violet also advanced in the SVW Tournament of Chaos by defeating MJ Grayson.
Future Killers Capture the Everywhere World Tag Team Titles
Future Killers—Killer Kyle George and Zac Walker—became the new Everywhere World Tag Team Champions after defeating Second City Diamonds, Gabe Naughton and Rob Buckley.
Second City Diamonds entered the contest claiming they had won the championships in a tournament in Brazil. However, questions surrounding that claim have followed them into Victory Pro Wrestling. Whatever the truth, their reign ended at Feel the Heat as Future Killers seized the titles and established themselves as the new force in the division.
Karnivora also picked up a singles victory over Sabrina Valentine.
Joey Slade Turns on TJ Rex
The VPW Global Title five-way match provided the night’s most shocking moment.
Rey Connor defeated Joey Slade, Luke Douglas, Romulus and TJ Rex to become the first VPW Global Champion. But the result was overshadowed by the collapse of the friendship between Joey Slade and TJ Rex.
Slade turned on Rex, making it clear that their partnership was over because Rex had failed to be the friend Slade believed he deserved. What had once appeared to be a promising alliance ended in betrayal, leaving Rex with a new enemy and Slade with plenty of explaining to do.
Connor’s victory was controversial for another reason. During the match, he cheated Romulus to secure the win, making his first championship victory one surrounded by suspicion. Rey Connor may now hold the VPW Global Title, but Romulus—and the rest of the VPW locker room—will not forget how he won it.
Feel the Heat closed with new champions, broken friendships and a Global Champion whose reign is already under a cloud of controversy. Victory Pro Wrestling has made it clear: the road ahead is going to be anything but predictable.
